58mm Metal Lug Lid

The 58mm Metal Lug Lid is a single-piece metal closure designed for jars with a 58mm lug thread finish. On an FBC jar, that means the 12 oz Glass Skep Jar and the 12 oz Glass Bear Honey Jar. Both use a lug thread — not a continuous thread — so they need a lug lid specifically. A standard continuous thread metal lid won't engage correctly on these jars.

The lid has a plastisol liner pressed into the interior. When you screw the lid down onto the jar, the liner compresses against the jar rim and creates a seal. You don't need a separate sealing disc or insert. The seal holds for honey storage and is rated for water bath canning up to 212°F, which makes it useful if you're also using these jars for preserves or other canning projects alongside honey.

Available in gold and white. Both colors use the same lug thread and plastisol liner — the difference is purely cosmetic. Gold reads more traditional; white reads cleaner on a shelf or in a gift set. Sold individually, by the 12-pack, by the 200-pack (white only), and by the case of 1,600 (white only).

Does Not Work With

• Continuous thread jars (classic, queenline, paragon, mason) — those use 48mm, 63mm, or 70mm continuous thread lids

Note: Lug thread and continuous thread are mechanically different. A lug lid will not seal properly on a continuous thread jar. If you're not sure which thread type your jar uses, check the jar's product page or the jar rim itself before ordering lids.
