Tactical Respirator - FAQs
Ops-Core SOTR vs. SOTR LITE?
Both masks offer an incredible middle ground between no breathing protection and a massive, full-face respirator that limits mobility and sight. The primary advantage of the SOTR over the SOTR Lite is that it is compatible with helmets and other gear. It also comes with two filters, meaning it will last longer and be more effective.
Why would the Ops-Core SOTR be helpful for a civilian?
This mask offers pros for more than just military personnel and law enforcement. A shooting range is one of the many civilian-centric places where this mask may be useful. Shooting ranges have massive ventilation systems. If any of those fail, you go to a shooting range without one or at an outdoor shooting range; the air can quickly fill with tons of particulates, building materials, and other hazards. They can also protect against long-term threats like asbestos and lead, which are useful for entering potentially harmful environments like basements, attics, or abandoned buildings.
What does the SOTR protect against?
Lead
Asbestos
Mold
Bacteria
Dust
Lubricant Mist
Explosive/Gunfire Residue
Fentanyl exposure
The default filter and the official replacement filters on Atomic Defense stop PM10 particles with a filtration efficiency against airborne particulates, including Lead, Asbestos, lubricant mist, and explosive gunfire residue.
