Ohio Flag

3' x 5' polyester Ohio Flag with two grommets, double-stitched edges, and a reinforced fly edge to reduce fraying on its iconic swallowtail burgee shape.

✍️ The Design: As the only non-rectangular U.S. state flag, Ohio's flag has an inherent feeling of punk rock defiance. Designed by architect John Eisenmann for the 1901 Pan-American Exposition and officially adopted in 1902, the unique burgee shape stands out among all other flags. Flag-nerd fact: Similar to its neighbor Indiana, for nearly a century after entering the union, Ohio didn't even have a state flag!

The Ohio flag features five red and white horizontal stripes representing the roads and waterways of the state, while the blue triangular field at the hoist symbolizes Ohio's hills and valleys. Inside the triangle, 13 stars surround a red circle encircled in white (creating an "O") with 4 additional stars at the peak. All of that totals to 17 stars to mark Ohio's entry as the 17th state to join the United States.

The central "O" doubles as both the state's initial and a nod to its nickname, the Buckeye State.
