Comb honey sells at a premium because it can't be faked — it's honey exactly as the bees sealed it, in edible beeswax comb, no extraction involved. These cassettes let you produce and package it yourself in ready-to-sell boxes, without buying a separate comb honey system.
Assemble the finger-jointed pine pieces into a rectangle — no tools needed — and place it inside a standard Langstroth wooden frame. Slide a thin sheet of beeswax foundation into one or both slots as a starter guide, then let bees draw and fill the comb during a nectar flow.
Once filled, pop the cassettes out of the frame, bag them, and freeze before consumption to protect against pests. After freezing, they're ready to package for sale or gifting.
These wooden cassettes — sometimes called basswood sections — offer a simpler, lower-cost way to produce comb honey compared to systems like Ross Rounds or Half Hogg Cassettes, without sacrificing the same natural presentation.
