🇨🇦 3' x 5' Canadian flag with grommets and double stitched edges to reduce fraying.
✍️ The Design: The National Flag of Canada, often simply called the "Maple Leaf," is one of the most recognizable and beloved national flags in the world. Adopted in 1965 after the famous "Great Flag Debate," it replaced the Canadian Red Ensign to give the nation a symbol that was uniquely and distinctly Canadian and finally shedded the Union Jack.
The design is a masterpiece of vexillological simplicity and is Michael's (our founder) favorite flag on earth. The two red borders represent the two oceans bordering the country—the Atlantic and the Pacific—while the white central square (known as a Canadian pale) signifies the vast, snowy North. At the very heart of the flag is the iconic eleven-pointed maple leaf, a symbol that has represented Canada’s natural beauty and its people since the 1700s.
The red and white colors themselves have deep roots, having been appointed as Canada’s official colors by King George V in 1921. Today, the flag stands for hope, generosity, and the diverse, welcoming spirit of Canada.
